Tversted Dune Plantation with the Tversted Lakes is a luxuriant wooded area that extends as far as the beach, and there are ramblers' trails and two lookout towers. The roof-borne post mill, "Østerklit", in the centre of the plantation, has been preserved intact and is the only mill of its kind in Denmark that can still be seen in function A number of craftsmen and artists have made their homes in the Tversted area where they derive inspiration from the region's light and unspoiled countryside.
